Today more and more of us are looking for ways to improve our carbon footprint so ensuring that we take care of the planet we live on better. One way of doing this is through purchasing an Asus EeeBox Nettop PC. This like other mini desktop PC needs only around 20 watts of power to actually run them. So on average you can expect to reduce your carbon footprint by 90% when you use one of these instead of a standard desktop PC.

Asus EEEBoxThe EeeBox from Asus has been produced because of the popularity of the original Asus EeePC Notebook that this company produced. Just as with the notebook this Asus Nettop comes with a 1.6GHz N270 Intel Atom Processor along with 1GB of RAM and an 80GB 2.5” hard drive. Plus this Nettop also comes with an Intel GMA 950 graphics card with shared video memory installed.

This is the perfect machine where space is limited and you need something that allows you to quickly and easily surf the net and for basic word processing tasks. However, it does not have the graphics capacity to allow it to be suitable for gaming on.

Due to the size of this machine measuring only 8.5” by 7” by 1” you have the opportunity to easily move it from one room to another. In fact when you put this up against a piece of A4 paper the Asus EeeBox is quite a bit smaller. Also because of its size and weight most of the LCD monitors that you can purchase to use along allow you the facility to mount it on the back.

As well as being very small and lightweight another feature that makes these the perfect home PC’s is that they don’t create as much noise. They not only produce less noise than a standard stand alone PC but also than many notebooks. The reason for this is that inside this machine and other Nettops is installed the latest Intel Atom processor.
