Acer Aspire Revo 330 Nettop

The original Acer Aspire Revo with Atom 330 Nettop has proven very popular and because of when the new version is released this is likely to prove just as popular. The new version of the Acer Aspire Revo has an Atom 330 dual core processor installed rather than a single core Atom 230.

Along with a much more powerful processor the new version of this Nettop which is set to be priced at around 349 Euros ($497) also comes with 4GB of DDR2 memory. It also comes with 320GB of storage on its hard drive. Again as with the first version of the Acer Aspire Revo that was released it has six USB 2.0 ports, a VGA and HDMI outputs as well as Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

Also because the specifications of the processor and hard drive are considerably better than its predecessor this version is more suited to running Windows Vista Home Premium. But if you wait a few more weeks then getting Windows 7 installed will prove even more effective.

The major problem faced with the original version of the Acer Aspire Revo was in that the processor installed was unable to keep up with what the NVIDIA Ion graphics card could provide. So although the original version was great for using to play games on and transcoding videos playing back HD videos on YouTube proved a problem. But hopefully this will not be an issue when it comes to the new model.

As with the original version the size of the unit is what makes people look at purchasing these rather than a traditional desk top PC. The new version measures just 7.1 x 7.1 x 1.2 inches and sits comfortably on any computer desk next to a good quality monitor.

Although a great many people will still use this beautiful little machine to surf the web or to carry out other basic computer functions like typing of reports. It is designed with the various components to carry out so much more. It allows you to share digital photos with others along with playing some really exciting games on it. So in fact it allows you to perform what you would normally expect to carry out on a traditional full size system.

As mentioned this new version of the Acer Aspire Revo with 330 Atom Nettop is expected to appear for sale to the public in the next few weeks and is going to be something that a great deal of teenagers may clamour for this Christmas. So to avoid disappointment it is worth considering purchasing yours as soon as it becomes available. Don’t forget however it is worth considering waiting for the release of Windows 7 and get this superb operating system installed on yours.
