Dell have confirmed that they will be launching their netbook offering this week, as was suggested earlier on today. However thecompany spokesperson declined to name the upcoming budget ultraportable, believed to be the Inspiron 910, and described the leaked specifications seen so far as “still pretty much rumor and speculation”.

Other than confirming the new product’s scheduled introduction, a Dell’s spokeswoman declined to provide details on what’s probably the worst kept secret on the Web. Gadget enthusiast sites have been leaking details on the device, expected to be called the Inspiron Mini 9, for the last couple of weeks. The launch date could be as early as Thursday.

The Intel Atom based Dell Inspiron 910 netbook features are supposed to include a 8.9 inch screen with 1024x600px resolution, 512MB/1GB RAM, 4GB/8GB/16GB SSD storage, 1.3MP camera, and 4-cell battery. Prices will start from $299 upwards.

Dell Inspiron 910 to be launched tomorrow (Sept. 4)
An email from Dell partner Box.net, an online storage company show that the anticipated nettop will launch tomorrow (sept. 4). It is interesting to see that Dell will feature Box.net’s service. This is huge for Box – congrats!. It’s not clear if the leak was organized or “genuine”, but does it matter? The final pricing is the last uncertainty. Are you wondering what a nettop is? Well, this is a very small, inexpensive, and low-wattage desktop computer, which has been designed for performing day-to-day computing tasks like document processing, audio/video playback, surfing the Internet and accessing web-based applications as well. In the recent times, Netbooks and nettops are high in demand in the domain of personal computer. Nettops are mostly run on Atom or Neo processors and since they consume lower energy, you don’t need to worry about your electricity bill as well.

There are several reasons for which you can think of building a nettop. First, you can build a nettop with much lesser cost than a full-scale desktop PC. And if your primary aim is to surf the Web, there is no meaning in spending huge bucks.

Nettop is not only small in size but also it requires just a 60-watt power supply. So, if you are looking for an eco friendly system, this is a very good choice. With a 2.5-inch hard drive, like the Western Digital WD VelociRaptor (7,200 rpm) you don’t need to compromise with the speed at all.

While building Nettop, you must remember some important things. You cannot run the fastest processor in your nettop, and the speed and amount of RAM of the system will also be limited as well. In most of the cases DDR2 RAM is used while DDR3 is rapidly taking its place for faster speed. The operating system should be either Linux or the now-ancient Windows XP. Do you need further tech support for building nettop?  You can talk to a computer services company for getting assistance.
